So I started seeing this thing on Instagram called the Tombow Blender, it looks awesome, and I was intrigued. The Tombow brush pens come in every beautiful color you can imagine are one of my recent favorites for lettering, but blending them opens a whole new world! I just haven’t seen the blending palette at any of my local art stores and I could have ordered it online, but it’s just not that same instant satisfaction, you know?
So the description of the Tombow blending is that it’s basically a piece of stiff paper with a waxy/plastic coating, so I thought: lamination. I don’t own a laminating machine so my next step was Office Depot. Though their online printing services this is what I did:
- First I uploaded my design, anything will work as long as you have the white background (if you’d like to use my template you can download it here).
- I chose B&W printing on 110lb cardstock in white.
- For finishing options I chose cut in half horizontally.
- I then chose
- Under “add special instructions” I specified I’d like the sheet cut in half first and each half be laminated separately.
That’s it! This cost me about $2.42 and I got two blending palettes out of it. And hey, if you’re on Instagram, I want to see your creations as well! (@bayleehart)
